This is the further
description of the National Monument.
The National Monument
(indonesia : Monas) was constructed in 17 August 1961 under the direction of
Soekarno, first president of Indonesia. The designer of Monas are Frederich
Silaban, R.M. Soedarsono and Ir. Rooseno. Monas construction was finsihed in 12
July 1975 as long the inauguration.

Inside the Monas, there are
the Independence Room and National History Museum. In the
Independence room were kept the map of Indonesia, the red and white flag of
Indonesia, the symbol of Indonesia, which is Garuda, and the replica of
Indonesian independence proclaim script at the gateway. On the National History
Museum, the four sides of the museum there are display windows that shows the
life and phenomenon that Indonesian people has gone through since Indonesian
ancient time.

At the top of Monas (Yes you
can go to the top by Elevator and purchasing the tickets), you can see the view
of the entire Jakarta City from Monas. Also there is a park in Monas. There are
several kinds of plants from various region of Indonesia in the park. There’re
many seats provided under big trees. You
could see the cultivation of spotted dears that were originated from Istana
Bogor, at the park.
