So, first, you can go by an Airplane. From America, the ticket cost around $600 - $800. You can check airplane ticket on ticket sites like cheapflights.com or nusatrip.com for further information. When you choose "Jakarta", there are two airports, but i recommend you to choose the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK). Dont forget to book a hotel, check out hotels.com or traveloka.com.
After you arrive at the airport, you can try to find the taxi. It cost around 14$ - 16$. Or use online taxi like uber, grab, or go-car. Its more cheapier than the conventional taxi. It cost around $8 - $10
